Sad Day

It is a sad day for the Liberals as Stephene Dion is being asked to resign. The world is expecting him to make an announcement on Monday. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20081017/dion_presser_081017/20081017?hub=TopStories
He was not supported in his desire to promote the Green Shift as many Liberals felt he should not bring it up especially during the campaign. It was his desire for Canada to make us ready to trade with other countries that have better carbon regulations.
The Liberals and the press have been hounding Dion since the election, awaiting his resignation.

Can they not give the man time to recuperate from a very difficult campaign? What is the major rush?
The press is making Dion out to be some sort of a wimp but exhaustion, and disappointment that the country did not see his plan is bound to make him tired and weary. Even had Stephene won the election he would be tired.
Being sad does not equal weak. Society assumes those of us who need time to retreat are weak beings, but he needs to think things through with extreme logic. He is in the hole financially and the Liberal party cannot assist him at this time, yet they badger him to step down immediately. Sounds to me like some jealousy over the fact that he is the Liberal Leader.

Yes back into the race again, but personally I feel it a big loss to the Country.
It may be quite interesting to see just how soon Harper will need to impose a similar tax. Today Harper met with the President of France to discuss economics and trade.http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20081017/Harper_Sarkozy_081017/20081017?hub=TopStories
France has much better carbon control, so what will we need to adapt? It will be interesting to see just what Harper needs to do, in order to promote Canada to the world other than United States.
Firmly I believe that Dion acted from his conscience and heart,( not a good mix for politics) It was obvious in his eyes and expressions as to his deep love for Canada and all citizens.
If he needs to be replaced right away, I sincerely hope Frank McKenna will run for the position. McKenna had no desire once he left politics, but I hope he will take the chance. Mckenna is also known for honesty and integrity. How McKenna was elected in is beyond me as he is far to honest to compare to most politicians.
The saddest part of all of this is lies have prevailed and won for a time.
